Video Refereeing: Video Refereeing will be used for the final bout of all events. Semi final use is TBD depending on entry numbers. In all cases use of this equipment will be at the discretion of Head DT & Head Referee.

Drug Free Sport: This event is subject to the Drug Free Sport NZ regime. Random anti-doping testing may be conducted at this event. As an athlete it is your responsibility to be familiar with the rules and to obtain any Therapeutic Use Exemption that may be required. Failure to comply with the DFSNZ protocols will be treated as a doping offence under rule o.107.
The testing process and your rights and responsibilities as an athlete are outlined in the Drug Free Sport NZ website here: https://drugfreesport.org.nz/for-athletes/introduction-to-anti-doping/the-anti-doping-rules/
Podium Attire: Tracksuit jacket (regional, club or national); breeches or tracksuit pants; fencing socks and shoes.

Covid-19
On 12 September the NZ Government retired the COVID Protection Framework (traffic light system).
The Fencing NZ Covid Safety Plan (see attached policy) no longer applies, however:
- Anyone testing positive for Covid-19 must self-isolate for 7 days from the positive test or from the start of symptoms, whichever is earlier (NZ Government requirement).
- Please stay away if you are not well, even if you have tested negative.
- The organising committee retains the right to refuse entry to any person who is showing signs of being unwell and to conduct a temperature check if appropriate. A result over 38°C will result in refusal of entry.
- As this is a national event with attendees from around New Zealand and beyond, there is still a general risk of infectious diseases. You may still wish to wear a face mask when mingling with people you do not know.
- The change to rule t.122 will continue to apply. Fencers will not shake hands of their opponent or the referee on the piste but will salute and tap blades instead.
All attendees are expected to comply with NZ government requirements. Refer to: https://covid19.govt.nz/prepare-and-stay-safe/
If there is an alert level change in the hosting region, entrants will be contacted with details of any revised protocols that may be put in place.
