Draws and Match Times
Q: When will the draw be out?
A: In 2024 the draw will be completed within 3 days of closed of registration. All match times in 2024 are final. Participants should include any requests at the time of their registration submission. However, while will try to help fulfilling such requests may not be possible.
Q: Why are match times and draw so strict in 2024?
A: This ensures fairness and integrity within the competition, fostering a respectful environment for all involved. By allowing for real-time posting of results on competition days, it maintains the immediacy and relevance of the competition's proceedings. Additionally, while recognizing that unexpected circumstances can occur outside of the sporting context, these protocols help to minimize disruptions and maintain the focus on the competitive spirit and shared goals of the participants.
Q: What is the tiebreaker week?
A: All tie breakers for ODT will be played during this week. All teams are to consider that their tie break match or matches will be played on their allocated weekday namely on Thursday. Teams are responsible for their roster to be available for their match times.
Player Information
Q: Why has my Riot ID been refused to play?
A: This is a university-based competition held to a high standard for intervarsity sport. Inappropriate screen names will not be allowed. Any changes are at the player’s expense.
These restrictions will be applied solely at the discretion of season officials (Tournament Administration).
Riot ID must not contain:
- vulgarities or obscenities;
- LoL champion derivatives or other similar character names; and
- or derivatives of products or services that may create confusion.
Q: I have a current LCO contract listed on the Globale Contract Database. Am I allowed to play for my university in OLI? Am I allowed to play?
A: No. Players who appear on the Global Contract Database will not be able to play. Players using alternate account to play will be penalised, removed from play and reported to their LCO team.
Q: I am on the roster for ODT am I allowed to play in intervarsity?
A: Yes and no
- No, if you are on the starting roster for ODT you will be considered to play at that level. You cannot be on the starting roster for both. You are not allowed to play down a grade. Intervarsity plays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while ODT plays on Thursdays.
- No, If you have played more than 2 games from being promoted from Division 1 you will be considered part of the ODT pool. Intervarsity plays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while ODT plays on Thursdays. The following season you may register or an OLI team.
- Yes, if you are called up to play 1 game up you are allowed to return to your Division 1. However teams are to use their subtitutes first before going to Division 1.
Q: I am a LCO Substitute Player and I haven't played a game in the LCO at all and the LCOcseason has finished. However I am on the Global Contract Database. Am I allowed to play in ODT?
A: You need to be released from your team in writing and for it to be approved by LCO Team Manager. Without admin receiving these approvals in writing from your Team Manager and LCO Manager you will not be allowed to play. A verbal agreement is not sufficient. Further you must also complete all parts of player registrations and conditions for ODT(i.e. including being an currently enrolled student for a university team).
Q: I am in the Women’s competition can I play in the ODT and OLI?
A: Yes and no. You can play for 1 not both. ODT is higher than OLI. If you are promoted to the ODT you will be unable to play in the OLI for the season. If you play more than two games, you will be considered part of that player pool, even if you are removed. You cannot play in both. ODT is higher level than OLI.
Q: I am subject to an Account Ban; I have been penalised or subject to a Sportsmanship event.
A: Players may be subject to warnings or loss of eligibility at any point during the season. Players receives a permaban during the season, they are no longer eligible for the rest of the season. This rule applies to all accounts owned by a player, not just their registered account. Officials have the right to include or discount account bans on a case-by-case basis. Players should ensure that they read their Players Agreements, Rule Set and Discord rules. These will be enforced in 2024. Judgements are made; however, you need to respect other players and teams. Officials at all times, may act with the necessary authority to preserve the best interests of the Season. This power is not constrained by lack of specific language in this document. Officials may use any form of punitive actions at their disposal against any entity whose conduct is not within the confines of the best interests of the Competition.
Team Information
Q: One of my players has dropped out can I get a sub?
A: Yes, but you must notify Tournament Administration as soon as possible as player lists must be made available the Sunday before the competition. The player agreement must be signed, and student confirmation obtained prior to playing. No expectations. You may have a roster up to 7 players those players are to be utilised first. You will receive one (1) Pick Phase 2 penalty for late submission (Sunday) and an additional one (1) received and within 24 hours oan additional Phase 1 ban.
Q: I need an emergency sub what happens?
A: You must still complete registration process with correct op.gg, player agreement must be signed, and student confirmation prior to playing. You will receive two (2) Ban Phase 1 penalties. Please use your substitutes.
Q: How are complaints handled?
A: In sports, decision-making can be categorized into two main types: operational decisions made during the day-to-day activities, and more intricate issues that require in-depth deliberation. Due process must be followed. We have adopted the Global Esports Code of Conduct. For complex matters, RIOT Games may be consulted with META Esports Esports channel.
