All Schools Esport Challenge FAQ

General Information

Q: What is the All Schools Esport Challenge?
A: The All Schools Esport Challenge is an exciting competition where students from various schools compete in a 48 Team Rocket League Competition and 24 Team Just Dance 2024 Competition. This event encourages teamwork, strategic thinking, and physical activity through gaming.

Q: Who can participate in the All Schools Esport Challenge?
A: The challenge is open to all schools that have registered for the competition with School Sport Australia. Registration details and deadlines are provided through school communications.

Registration and Communication

Q: How do schools register for the All Schools Esport Challenge?
A: Schools register for the challenge through School Sport Australia. 

Q: How will communication be handled during the competition?
A: All team communications during matches will be hosted through Microsoft Teams and directly to School Staff member. Students are not required to join Discord and Discord will not be used. 

Complete Ruleset and Onboarding

Q: Where are the final rulesets?
A: All rulesets will be forwarded to the staff and the final rulesets will again be provided directly to school staff in their designated onboarding session. Onboarding sessions will be held with registered participants to ensure smooth

Rocket League Competition

Q: What is the format for the Rocket League competition?
A: The Rocket League competition is a double elimination bracket consisting of 2 x 24 Schools groups. The matches will be played in the following format:

Mode: 3v3 Soccer

Pitch: Random (Standard Only)

Match Time: 5 minutes

Overtime: On, unlimited duration

Settings/Mutators: Default

Matches will be best of three games.

Q: How will the winners be determined in Rocket League?
A: The team that wins two out of three games in a match will be declared the winner of that match.

Just Dance Competition

Q: What is the format for the Just Dance competition?
A: The Just Dance competition will consist of a double elimination group stage, with teams playing a minimum of two games. Once a team has lost two games, they will be eliminated from the competition. The top four teams will progress to a single elimination finals series. Each match will be best of three songs, with the winner determined by the game’s scoring system.

A: Yes, in addition to the ruleset and code of conduct, schools should also refer to the following policies:

Q: What is expected from students in terms of behavior?
A: Students are expected to behave in an appropriate manner in line with their school's student code of conduct and School Sport Australia’s player’s code of conduct. This applies to both in-person and online conduct.

A: For any questions or support, school staff members should communicate through esports@qut.edu.au. Further details will be provided upon registration.

Q: How can we stay updated on the competition schedule and results?
A: Updates on the competition schedule and results will be shared through the official communication channels and match times with school progress are able to be seen in the are listed provided to the schools.
