The 2022 season is fast approaching and already some clubs are keen to get training and are making the use of the vacant turf time available.
FIXTURES:
Draft fixtures have been completed and are being reviewed by the Executive this weekend, we should have a draft ready for distribution by early this week. Fixtures are to be distributed to clubs for final feedback prior to completed fixtures being implemented. We are hoping to have the fixtures locked in by the end of February.

At the first executive meeting we endorsed Kevin MacDonald onto the team, who was nominiated but did not accept the role at the AGM. We have also endorsed Allison Puckett to move over to a book keeper role which leaves the current treasurer role vacant on the Executive.
VACANT EXECUTIVE ROLES:
We currently have two roles vacant on our Exectuve. If you would be interested in joining the team to assist with making the Association run smoothly please sumbit your nomination via email to secretary@goldfieldshockey.com.au by COB 18th February.
The current roles we have are:
Treasurer - Although we have Allison still on board in the book keeping role we would like someone on board to liaise with Allison and the Executive team and present the financial reports to the meetings and be a voting member.
Junior Coordinator - we need someone who can be a link between the junior committee members and the exectuive team and provide feedback to the Executive on matters of concern within the junior competition.
Both roles will be highly supported by the Exective team. If you would like further information please do not hesitiate to contact Michelle Barnfield.
HOCKEY WA VISIT:
We have been in long discussions with Hockey WA around bringing their Roadshow to Kalgoorlie. Unfortunatley due to Covid we have missed out the past two years so we should be seeing them early in the seson. We are currently in final discussions with them to lock in dates.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
EGHA is having a stall at the Explore the Goldfields Event on Saturday 12th February between 9am & 12pm to promote hockey and specifically the welcome to hockey program. If you are able to donate an hour of your time to come and assist please email secretary@goldfieldshockey.com.au
Street Sports - The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder has given hockey the opportunity to take part in the Street Sports program where young members of the public can come down and try a sport in a street location. Hockey is particiapting in this on 24th March at Rotary Park (Twin Dams). The session runs from 6pm to 8pm and if you are able to assist please email secretary@goldfieldshockey.com.au
