COVID-19 Update

Published Thu 03 Feb 2022

As mentioned in our previous update mandates are continually changing and those changes have come through sooner than we thought.

The following statement was sent out through WALGA today providing clear direction that EGHA now must obtain Proof of vaccination for our licensed area.
•    Venues covered by a liquor license: This provides clarity that the PoV only applies to the part of a business where alcohol is supplied, sold or consumed. If alcohol is served and consumed throughout the area covered by the liquor licensed, the PoV would be required throughout.  For example, if the alcohol is only supplied within a club, the PoV would apply in that location only.

Hockey WA released on 01/02/2022 their requirements for participation at stadiums so the same will now be in effect at EGHA Stadium
- Players, coaches and officials can attend all hockey venues to play hockey (regardless of vaccination status)
- Unvaccinated participants must leave a venue immediately following games and cannot enter the clubhouse venue or consume food and beverage at the site.
- Vaccinated individuals can provide ‘Proof of Vaccination’ (through the nominated process at a venue) and be served food and beverages

Un-vaccinated people are not permitted to enter the Licensed Area, with the following exemptions:

  • Thoroughfare for purposes of entering the field of play
  • Thoroughfare for purposes of using the toilets or change rooms

It is a requirement that those who have booked the venue are responsible to esnure vaccination status is check.

All other requirements to sign in, maintain social distancing and use sanitiser are still in effect.

At this time we have received several different interpretations to the requirements and are in the process of seeking further clarification for our venue. We will keep you all updated as we gather further information.
