AUSTRALIAN SAILING CREW & HELM 2 DAY MIDWEEK SUMMER COURSE
Get on board with this high-energy Australian Sailing course! This beginner course covers the fundamentals of sailing and will have you comfortable at the helm in no time. Taught on the beautiful Sydney Harbour, you can enroll as an individual or with a group of up to 4 friends.
Australian Sailing Crew & Helm Course Details
In this Australian Sailing accredited course we will teach you everything you need to know to how to learn to sail. Our courses are taught over 2 full days by certified sailing coaches aboard our exciting fleet of Force 24 sports boats. Class sizes are an intimate 4 people or fewer. By the end of this course you will understand terminology and the importance of wind direction. You will also know how to rig and prepare the yachts for sailing, execute manoeuvres of tacking and gybing, understand basic right of way rules, and be able to tie a number of useful basic knots.
Course Overview
The first step on the Keelboat pathway introduces you to the basics of sailing on a small keelboat, including boat handling, safety and sailing theory. In the combined course, you will also experience and develop the theory and practical skills to confidently take control on the helm.
Course Prerequisites
Water confident.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics of crewing and helming, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Crewing and Start Helming completion certificate.
