Established in 1983, Eastsail is recognised as Australia’s leading sail training organisation. Our sail training program is designed as a first step into keel boat’s.

Run over 2 days, the course is fully accredited with Australian Sailing and taught by fully certified sailing coaches aboard our exciting fleet of Force 24 and Thompson 7 sports boats.

Participants will sail around Sydney Harbour and enjoy a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 1 starts at 1000 and finishes at 1600 to 1800 for a relaxing debrief and cool beverage. 

Day 2 starts at 1000 and finishes at 1600 then a complimentary beverage and presentation of Australian Sailing Certificates at 1700.

Cost per person $495 fully inclusive. 

Chinese speaking  instructor available.

Age minimum is 18 years with reasonable fitness.


Course Overview
The first step on the Keelboat pathway introduces you to the basics of sailing on a small keelboat, including boat handling, safety and sailing theory. In the combined course, you will also experience and develop the theory and practical skills to confidently take control on the helm.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics of crewing and helming, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Crewing and Start Helming completion certificate.
