Take your adaptive snowsport guiding skills to the next level with your Level 2 Adaptive Guide Training.

Your experience level

  • Have successfully completed Level 1 Guide Training
  • Have secondary guided a stand up skier or snowboarder as a secondary guide for 5 days (20 hours) confirmed by trainer or staff
  • Have some or no experience primary guiding a vision impaired skier
  • Completed Stand-up equipment and disability quiz (including disability awareness questions) with a 70% minimum score.

You may learn

  • How to guide from in front, beside and behind a vision impaired skier and when to use each
  • How to discuss with the participant their level of vision and understand their needs
  • Introduce participant to equipment and safely assist putting equipment on.
  • Lift loading and unloading
  • Terrain width and length of run, estimate number of turns before stopping
  • Communicating through linked turns

How to register

  1. Apply for DWA Associate Membership
  2. Click register
  3. Answer all relevant questions
  4. Select either:
    1. Accommodation - if you would like DWA to provide accommodation at Falls Creek
    2. Training only - if you don't need accommodation
  5. Submit registration
