Event information
This introductory clinic is designed for those new to adaptive snowsports and provides a diverse platform for you to spring into your guiding future. Our friendly trainers will provide motivation and support as you discover fundamental concepts of adaptive snowsports, the various disciplines, select disability groups and presentations, the vast array of adapted equipment, and the amazing opportunities available to you as a DWA volunteer. Gain an insight into the adaptive snowsport industry, learn how to apply basic safety techniques, dive into some of the common language, and have an absolute blast with your fellow trainee guides as you enjoy this exciting course.
Please note, you need to be a strong intermediate skier or snowboarder to be an adaptive snowsport guide. (Able to make linked turns down World Cup).
There will also be a 90 minute off snow evening session at the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre on the night before the training.
How to register
- Apply for DWA Associate Membership
- Click register
- Answer all relevant questions
- Select either:
- Accommodation - if you would like DWA to provide accommodation in Jindabyne
- Training only - if you don't need accommodation
- Submit registration
What to bring
- Ski or snowboard gear
- Waterproof outerwear
- Helmet
- Food and drink (or money to buy them)
