Veterans

The DVBA Veterans is a part of the Diamond Valley Badminton Association and is one of the oldest and best known clubs in Victoria. We have members of various ages, fitness levels and skills. From the very young 35 year olds to the more mature 80 year plus, the common bond is always badminton, socialising and lots of fun. We are located in the suburb of Diamond Creek, where the sun shines every day and the sound of the chirping birds high in the leafy branches of the ghost gums is only broken by the whizzing sound of the shuttle flying through the air as it is smashed in anger by one of our Veterans. Whether you are a beginner or a lifer we encourage you to join the Diamond Valley Badminton Association Veterans and get a new lease on life.

STAN SAMS COMPETITION

The Stan Sam’s competition was founded by Stan Sam who passed away in 2006. Stan was a wonderful vibrant energetic member of the Diamond Valley Badminton association who’s passion and genuine love for game led to the creation of the Friday Night competition. Stan was a wonderful person who will be missed by all of us. The competition is played Friday nights between 7:00pm and 9:00 pm at the Diamond Creek Community Sports Stadium. Each season runs for 6 weeks. The games comprise woman’s and men’s doubles and mixed games.

VBVA Weekend Competitions

Our members regularly participate in weekend competitions scheduled by the Victorian Badminton Veterans Association. Competitions are hosted in Melbourne metropolitan through to destination country towns. The events are competitive, social and great times for all envolved.
