Our training times

Paddling times are seasonal and subject to change. Training sessions are structured for improving fitness and technique.

We ask you to arrive 30-45 minutes before the commencement of training to warm up and for a coach to demonstrate technique and safety procedures.

  • Tuesday and Thursday evenings arrive at 6 pm for 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm on water.
  • Saturdays arrive at *8.00 am for 8.30 am – 9.30 am on water (we recommend this as your first session as we concentrate on technique on Saturdays, which is a beneficial way to start)
  • Sundays arrive *8.00 am for 8.30 am on water for approx. 1 – 1 ½ hours on water.
*Note: Winter training (June – August) 9:00 – 10:00 am. There is no Tuesday session during winter. Please check session times with the Club.

What to wear/bring

  • Comfortable clothes for exercising and you don't mind getting wet
  • Warm days/evenings: Hat, sunscreen
  • Cold days/evenings:  Warm layers, jacket ..
  • Water bottle

PFDs and Paddles

We are required to wear PFDs at all times when paddling.  The club has a limited number of paddles and PFDs available for come-and-try paddlers.  If you decide to join the club we encourage all paddlers to have their own PFD and Paddle, however, in the interim, if you do not have your own, we can arrange a loan of equipment.
