The Kettering Yacht Club Inc., as the Organising Authority, invites eligible boat owners and charterers to enter the Channel Challenge. This regatta will feature the Tim Malone Memorial Race on Saturday, with feeder races on Friday from Hobart to Kettering and Cygnet to Kettering. Sunday’s events include the traditional Kettering to Dennes Point race, as well as an option for those heading south, a Kettering to Cygnet race.

Dinner & prize presentations on the Saturday night will include a live band, fire pits & food vans at the Kettering Yacht Club.

Schedule of Events:

Friday, 17 Jan 2025

• Cygnet to Kettering Race: Start time 11:30 am. The starting line will be managed by the Port Cygnet Sailing Club (PCSC) Committee Boat, moored south of Beaupre Point.
• Hobart to Kettering Race: Start time 5:30 pm. The starting line will be from the Derwent Sailing Squadron Committee Boat, RL Bugg, positioned at the DSS permanent mark, approximately 0.5 nm northeast of West Point Casino.

Saturday, 18 Jan 2025

• Tim Malone Memorial Race: Start time 9:00 am. The starting line will be from the KYC Committee Boat, Uncle Robin, positioned near Little Oyster Cove, south of the Sealink ferry crossing.

Sunday, 19 Jan 2025

• Dennes Point Race: Start time 10:30 am. The starting line will be from the KYC Committee Boat, Uncle Robin, moored near Little Oyster Cove, north of the Sealink ferry crossing.
• Kettering to Cygnet Race: Start time 10:00 am. The starting line will be managed by the PCSC Committee Boat, positioned near Little Oyster Cove, south of the Sealink ferry crossing.
