Welcome to the Deloraine Regatta!

This year the Deloraine Flames Dragonboat Regatta will be held on the Meander River on the weekend of December 2-3, with club races to be held on Saturday December 2 and community races the following day.

Club races will be predominantly AusDBF sanctioned 200m races for 10s and 20s crews in Champion boats and will be closely followed by a novelty turns race in 10s wooden boats. 

The turns race will be approximately 500m in length and involve a single turn. Boats will start at 15 second intervals with the best time winning. Although this race will be unsanctioned under AusDBF rules, we strongly encourage everyone to participate.

Races will be followed by live music on the riverbank.

Registration costs for the event will be $10/person, and includes both sanctioned events and the novelty race. In the event of inclement weather causing the cancellation of the event, a full refund will be made available. Registration fees may be paid by clubs, and either in cash or online. If paying online please reference the club name.

A preliminary schedule for events planned for the day is shown below, and is subject to modifications depending on entry numbers. We urge clubs to please register as early as possible to assist with planning individual heats so we can send detailed programs out to clubs.

The program will be subject to change depending on entries, so the key times are:

    9:00: Registration opens

    9:30: Welcome

    9:40: Sweeps briefing

    9:50: First crews on water

  10:00: Start 200m heats

On the following day we will be hosting a day of community team races, so please enjoy the entertainment and stay the night if you would like to see if the boat filled with realtors is able to win against the local gym or SES teams yet again!
