YouthSail NT is the premier youth and junior sailing event in the Top End! This event is open to all Australian Sailing affiliated sailors both in the NT and interstate. The event runs from Mon 30 June to Fri 4 July and includes a coaching clinic, with coaches from across the country followed by a regatta.

YouthSail is focused on growing participation in junior and youth classes, increasing sailors’ skills, fostering social connection, and building friendship and community between our youth sailors. 

Put your skills to the test in the 3 day Youth Championship regatta, with some amazing prizes to be won from our sponsors - generous gift vouchers from Zhik and amazing prizes from Ronstan, thanks to Nautical Supplies.

For anyone travelling from south… July is peak tourist season, so be sure to book early! Territory Day (Cracker Night) is Tues 1 July, and the DSC is the best seat in town so be sure to book a table.

New to Racing and YouthSail?

 GREEN FLEET (previously JuniorSail) is targeted towards sailors who have recently completed or are participating in our Blue/Red/Green Fleets and Adventure Club learn to sail programs. The fleet is centred around having fun and learning new skills as a friendly introduction to racing. It is composed of a 1-day coaching clinic followed by a 2-day regatta. Australian Sailing qualified instructors/coaches deliver the event so there is always help close at hand and it makes an ideal way to participate in your first regatta. Green Fleet is sailed in the DSC Opti fleet.

QUEST division is for those older kids that don’t own a boat yet and haven’t jumped into club sailing. This fleet is targeted towards sailors competing in our OutThere Sailing or other youth programs. The Quests can be sailed by 2-3 youth sailors, only the skipper registers. It’s the skippers’ job to coordinate their own crew. The Quests are on the main racecourse so will have rescue crew but no instructors.

• ILCA 6 (Single Handed)
• Minnow (Single Handed)
• Wing Foil (Single Handed)
• International Cadet (Double Handed)
• RS Quest (Triple Handed - Boat Included)
• Any other class that has 4 or more boats competing.
