We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Cullen Bay & DSC Making Waves Youth Scholarship!
Congratulations to Jabari, Harlen, Kody, and Ella!
These four lucky scholarship recipients hit the water over the school holidays with big smiles and beautiful weather on their side. Kicking off on the Elliot 7 Keelboat, the crew dove into the basics of boat handling, safety, rigging, de-rigging, and crewing. Guided by our awesome instructor, Meg, they experienced three thrilling days of sailing and MAKING WAVES. Their sessions also included a well-deserved and relaxing lunch on the Mary Woodrow.
Later in the week, Jabari, Harlen, Kody, and Ella were introduced to dinghy sailing with the new RS Quests. It's safe to say that the ‘sailing bug’ bit hard, as the kids couldn't get enough of being on the water!!
The excitement didn't stop there. Just in time for the NT Youth Sail - Jabari, Kody, and Ella teamed up to sail an RS Quest Team, ‘Leaf’, and competed in their first regatta together! Their teamwork and passion were evident as they completed the regatta, marking an unforgettable milestone in their sailing journey.
All four scholarship winners will continue their sailing journey with us at Youth Fleet. We are delighted to welcome these young sailors to the club and look forward to nurturing the sailors of the future. We are incredibly proud of Jabari, Harlen, Kody, and Ella, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success on the water. Welcome aboard, young sailors! 🌊⛵️
