Registrations for this course are closed.
If you have a sport voucher, select the sport voucher type ($100 or $200) and enter the related discount code during the registration process. The physical sport voucher must be displayed to the Club staff before the first session of the course. Full course fee will apply if the sport voucher won't be physically displayed.
The course will be held at the Darwin Sailing Club.
There will be a break for lunch, as well as a morning and afternoon break. DSC will provide an esky for packed lunches and snacks.
What to bring:
- Clothes and closed-toed shoes you don't mind getting wet
- Change of clothes and shoes
- Towel
- Drink bottle, lunch and snacks
- Hat and sunglasses to keep the sun off
- Sunscreen

This course aims to provide children aged 7-12 with a fun, safe and affordable way to get into sailing.

- Water confident
- 7-12 years-old
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to have fun and learn the basics of sailing through games on and off the water.
Course Outcome
By the end of the Tackers 1 course, the participants will be able to:
- Steer with tiller extension under towing paddling power
- Tie a figure 8 knot, round twice and two half hitches
- Tack (push turn)
- Gybe (pull turn)
- Reach around a figure of 8 course using both tacking and gybing
- Sail with tiller extension
- Sail upwind and downwind by following the safety boat
You will gain your Tackers 1 completion certificate.
