COST: $300

Your Sailing Journey starts here as you learn the fundamental skills of sailing and are introduced to the fun of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment. As you mas the fundamentl sailing skills, you will become equipped to sail your dinghy on your own. 

This program is ideal for anyone wanting to learn the basic skills of sailing. 

Classes are conducted by friendly Australian Sailing qualified instructors in our Pacer Dinghies. 

LENGTH OF COURSE

The course is usually run over 3 consecutive Saturdays. 

PRE-REQUISITES 

Preferably water confident, however you will always be wearing life jackets. 

WHERE TO FROM HERE

Once you have completed the Start Sailing 1/2 Course you are ready to move into out Dinghy Training Program. Designed to give you an opportunity to continue to practice the skills you have learnt in the course in a supervised program. 

You can then move onto Dinghy Racing, where you will get out on the race course in a Pacer with the comfort of a coach nearby to help you when required.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate. 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
