A team of 53 registered DA Canberra participants thoroughly enjoyed their experiences in Florence. – a full crew of 20 BCS paddlers, drummer and sweep; a composite crew of 12 paddlers and sweep; 10 supporter paddlers; and 8 non-paddling supporters. It was the first international meet for many of our paddlers and their supporters. The event was recorded as being the biggest women’s sporting event in the world (despite two men participating in the BCS category and many in the supporter racing). As of July 2018, IBCPC membership comprised 213 teams across 23 countries. The Florence event had representatives from 130 teams and 18 countries.
