Hi everyone, Crispy here with some exciting news!
This Saturday, 20 Feb, is the official opening of the Community Hub at The Dock! At 10am the official proceedings begin with VIP guests and speakers and conclude with traditional Aboriginal and Polynesian ceremonies and even a "dotting of the eyes" traditional dragon boat blessing!
From 11am onwards, the City of Melbourne have organised food stalls, children's activities and...
A COMMUNITY COME AND TRY DAY FOR DRAGON BOAT!
DBV has invited the CYSM Sea Dragons to run the Come and Try sessions on their behalf. We would love all of our friends and family to come down and help us introduce our exciting sport to everyone who comes down and wants to hop on a boat.
We will be holding two sessions (11:15am and 12:00pm) which include safety briefings, introduction to paddling sessions on the water and even a short race between boats towards the end of each session!
If you want to come along and paddle with us, all you need to bring is:
- yourself (and your friends because more is definitely better!)
- a change of clothes (sports clothes and undies too)
- a towel
- drink bottle
- LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM! RAWR!
If you want to help us out, let us know here! We'll be in touch with more instructions.

We are really excited about showing you our new facility and even more excited that we can talk you out on the water and introduce you to the sport we really love. I hope to see you on Saturday!
Cheers
