Last season we saw the Sea Dragons make history at the 2018 Australian Championships and achieve personal bests in all categories entered. This could not have happened without the continued support of the 2018/19 committee, who invested their time and effort into making the Sea Dragons into a competitive team.

Following the club’s AGM on 2 June 2018, all 2017/18 committee members stepped down from their roles and members were called to either step-up or return to the committee for season 2018/19 positions.

The following members stepped down from their duties: Carlos Diz, Catherine Besido, Mandy Li, Cindy Lu, Carol Lee and Meng Hou.

• Carlos was our captain for the past 2 seasons and played an integral role in taking our team to the next level. Carlos had an ever-burning spirit that was infectious and sparked our members to perform at their best. Although Carlos is no longer in the club committee, he will still be assisting in the development of our coaching team and members.
• Cat was also our captain for the past 2 seasons and played the important role of bringing everyone together as a team. Cat made sure that everyone turned up to our training sessions and gave it their best shot. Although Cat is no longer in the club committee, she will also be assisting in the coaching staff team.
• Mandy was our secretary and made sure that all administrative tasks were accomplished on time. Without Mandy booking our boats and setting up committee meetings, we would not have had the chance to train and grow as a team.
• Cindy was our dedicated treasurer and looked after everything related to finance. She played a significant role in making sure that everything was paid on time and that our budget was always healthy.
• Carol was a spokesperson for members’ interests, made sure that there was always someone to talk to for any personal matters and brought them to the attention of the club during our regular meetings.
• Meng was responsible for overseeing fundraising activities for the club and offering up new strategies for us to consider.

The club committee members will serve as guides for the club. Each committee member plays a unique role, and they will work together to grow the team, so that we can collectively achieve the goals and visions set out by the team for the new season.
