Canoeing Victoria Marathon - 12 km time trial

CYSM Sea Dragons and Dragon Boat Victoria had its first foray into longer distance racing when we joined metro clubs Yarra River Dragons, Melbourne Flames and Southern Storm in Race 4 of Canoeing Victoria's Winter Marathon Series. We all contended a 12-km time trial, completed by us in a respectable time of 1 h 10 min (3rd finish), alongside the extended paddling family of canoers and kayakers on the waters of Patterson Lakes. We were joined on our boat by Mao from YRD as drummer and paddlers Leo and Fonzi from Melbourne Flames. Physically and mentally challenging as we expected but we were ready for it! Cheers to a solid run and to new experiences!

A big thank you to our support crew Sui, Oana, Siu, Tina, Erika, Richard and bub. Thank you also to Canoeing Victoria and to our team coach, Joe Alia (also President of Canoeing Victoria), for the invitation and a great day out.
