The Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne is a non-profit youth society which celebrates and promotes all aspects of Chinese culture.

Chinese New Year is quickly approaching and CYSM is looking for volunteers to participate in the celebrations this coming 29th of January.

Parents, Friends, Relatives, Siblings, Partners. It doesn’t matter who, we would love to have you as a volunteer to celebrate Chinese New Year.

CYSM Lion Dance and Dragon Dance teams will be performing in China Town.

Roles where volunteers can help:

·         Support Crew to support the numerous performing teams that are out there performing in the streets. 

The day is long and we have numerous teams roaming and performing.  Help is required to support these teams in providing assistance, and coordinating communications, transporting food, water, equipment, first aid or cross team support to get everyone through the day.

In particular we are looking for man to support the base of the tower were Lion Dance will be performing.

This promise to be a fantastic experience, something new and exciting to be part of.

What volunteers can expect:

An action packed, exciting day of CYSM performances and other festivities that Chinese New Year brings!

- Food you ask? This is a CYSM event, so no need to ask :-) BBQ will be ready.

- There is no need to be a member of CYSM in order to participate in this event.

- There will be a small rehearsal planned for Sunday 8th of January at 13:00 p.m. at CYSM HQ:  Factory 4, 2-4 Joseph Street, Blackburn North 3130

- Performance to be held on the 29th of January in China Town at 13:00 http://chinatownmelbourne.com.au/

- There will be a one hour rehearsal for Volunteers to support the Lion Dance Plank. January 8th 13:00 (This rehearsal will last one hour)
