Australian Dragon Boat Championships, better known as AusChamps, is the highest level and biggest Dragon Boating event in Australia!

Thousands of Dragon Boaters from all over Australia come together once a year to compete for the State vs State and Club vs Club national titles...

...and Team CYSM are showing up in force. We will be competing in the club crew competitions and aiming to field representatives in the Victorian state teams.

About AusChamps 2020

 

Where:

AusDBF is delighted to confirm the 2020 AusChamps will be held in Penrith, NSW at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

AusChamps 2020 Program:

  • Day 1 - Wednesday 8th April - Training / meeting / opening ceremony 
  • Day 2 - Thursday 9th April - Seniors - 500m 
  • Day 3 - Friday 10th April - Seniors - 200m and 2km 
  • Day 4 - Saturday 11th April - Seniors - 2km & State vs State 500m 
  • Day 5 - Sunday 12th April - Premier / Juniors - 500m and 2km 
  • Day 6 - Monday 13th April - Premier / Juniors - 200m and 2km

A Fundraising program is in place with the goal to raise enough money to help subsidise for the cost of accommodation and race fees. Below are examples of some of the expenses of the trip before raised funds are discounted.

Deposit will be set at $50 same as last year in order to cover race and accommodation fees for late cancelations. ($50 per person)

Flight Tickets: Approx $280-$300

Race Fees: TBC

A private FB group will be created to manage updates about accommodation, travel, flights, and other logistics.

3) F.A.Q.

NSW is a great spot for vacations. Can I stay longer?

- Yes, if you would like to stay extra time after the event, or before and you want to stay in the same location let us know and we will try to facilitate this.

What happens if we run out of places for accommodation?

- As soon as we are full, we will try to book more accommodation in the same place, or as close by as possible.

Preference will be given to the people that has paid their deposit by due date. Early comes early gets. If we run out of space we cannot guarantee same price or location, so book as early as you know.

Can I bring my family, friend or supporter? Can they stay with us?

- Yes. Please let us know in the RSVP how many "CYSM friends" are coming.  

Can I book my own accommodation?

- Yes. Please RSVP to let us know you are going. No deposit required.

I am bringing my partner / friend and we want to have our own room. Is this ok?

Yes, select own room under Room Type.

I want to stay at NSW, but I do not want to share a room. Can I book a room for myself?

- Yes, you can have a room for yourself. Deposit and price will be double as it will count as two spots.

Can you arrange the flight booking?

- No, please make your own travel arrangements

Do I need to rent a car in Sydney?

- It is preferred that you rent a car for the convenience of getting about eg from accommodation to race site, getting grocery, going for dinner etc

Can you arrange the car rental?

- No, please make your own car rental arrangements. However, we can provide details about everyone's flight schedules and rooming arrangements at a later time, so you can make arrangements with the people you could be traveling or rooming with to share the cost of renting a car.
