CYCSA Opening Day Sail Past!!
please join us at the prestigious CYCSA for a day of celebration and enjoyment on and off the water.
Partcipate in sailing our Elliott 7s keelboat and pacers for the sail past event.
Enjoy complimentary pizza, chips and soft drinks for the youth!
History:
The origins of the traditional Sail Past began in the UK at the
Royal Yacht Squadron at Cowes, almost 200 years ago. The
‘review of the fleet’, steeped in more than 600 years of Royal
Navy history and tradition, was introduced into yacht clubs as a
continuation of the naval protocol.
The official Sail Past will commence at 1.00pm at Marina
West sailed in the CYCSA's Youth Sailing Foundation Elliott 7's.
DAY PROGRAM
- Arrive at 1200 for 1245 dock out start.
- Instructors to meet the sailors, give safety brief, get the boats rigged and prepped to dock out.
- Dock out at 1245
- YSF/Elliots will be first out heading north to a turning mark near 38s Marina, then out towards marina west.
- Sail past One & All / CYCSA 1 to give shout outs
- Powerboats out, followed by yachts.
- Dock in.
- De rig boats, wash down, sails and PFD’s back in the container.
- Pizza, wedges and soft drinks for lunch (included) at 1330.
Please dress appropriately for the days weather conditions including closed footwear.
PFD's to be provided or you can bring your own.
