ABOUT:

The 2^nd Northern Region Junior Qualifier for the 2025 Redbacks will be hosted at Cairns Squash Club on the 8-9 February 2025.

The 2025 Cairns Junior Championships is a Squash Australian sanctioned BRONZE regional junior tournament.

Players need to compete in Mackay(Compulsary) and 2 of the 3 other NR Junior tournaments, being Townsville, Mackay, or Ingham to be eligible for the selection on the Northern Region Redback Team, which will compete in the Queensland regional teams event at the 2025 Queensland Junior Championships (QJC) at Townsville.

Northern Region and Cairns Squash reserves the right to move or cancel this event should there be the need due to any unforeseen circumstances. 

Players are expected to be available between 8:30 am and 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday except with prior approval.

The 2025 Cairns Junior Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be "following on".

The tournament promises to be a fun event for all junior players.

Saturday Night Dinner.

This Northern Region Tournament include:
1) Aged/Division Events: depending on entries.
2) Doubles (if time permits)

3) Novice

ENTRY FEES:

TO BE PAID ON SATURDAY DURING CHECK IN

Aged Entry Fee - $35 
Novice $20 per player
Doubles - $10 per player
3 Matches minimum.
PAYMENT IN CASH /BANK TRANSFER ON THE FIRST DAY OF COMPETITION PRIOR TO PLAYING, AT CHECKIN.

SQUASH QUEENSLAND AFFILIATION
All entrants must be affiliated with Squash. Please see your club coordinator on how to get affiliated.

 

EYEWARE
Protective Eyewear, (Regulation 13 - Protective Eyewear Policy, Squash Australia).
"Any Australian player who satisfies the Squash Australia age eligibility for 19 years and all younger age groups is required to wear eyewear when playing in domestic or international tournaments or competitions"
Doubles: "Protective eyewear must be worn by all players (junior or senior) when playing in doubles competition / tournaments"
"This policies policy applies to junior players at all times

MOUTH GUARD - Must be worn by all u13 players during the doubles.
