Course Times

9 am-12 pm. Participants must be dressed and ready to begin the lesson by 9 am.

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills, so they learn terminology and equipment, practice launching and returning to shore, and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. Your accredited Discover Sailing Centre will provide all the equipment and gear.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.

Important information

• While supervision will be provided as part of the course, the ultimate responsibility will be on the participant’s parent or carer. Accordingly, they must be in attendance at all times.

• Missed sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you miss a session, we cannot accommodate an alternative session or refund.

• All courses are subject to change with little notice based on demand and availability.

• Places are limited. To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering early.
