WPNSW have asked clubs to nominate suitable athletes to be considered for the 2024 State Team Programs. The age groups are as follows: 

·                     15&U girls and boys – born 2009, 2010 

·                     17&U girls and boys – born 2007, 2008 

Athletes already participating in the WPA National Age Group Program (NAGP) or WPNSW Development Academy are not to be nominated by clubs, as they will be contacted directly through these programs. 

The ability level required to be nominated for this program is high, and WPNSW will only be selecting a handful of players to invite to the STP Trials, to be held on Saturday 3rd August in Sydney. 

Central are therefore calling for Expressions of Interest for any suitable players who are not currently involved in NAGP or NSW Development Academy Programs. To be considered, you must meet the below criteria. 

 

Criteria: 

·                     High playing ability and knowledge of water polo 

·                     Not involved in either WPA NAGP or WPNSW Development Academy programs 

·                     Ability to attend selection trials on Saturday 3rd August (if invited by WPNSW) 

 

If selected into the NSW State Team Program, you will be required to: 

·                     Attend 2 x training sessions per week (5.30-7am at SOPAC, week days TBC) 

·                     Attend the 2024 National State Championships on the Gold Coast from 26-30 September 2024 (estimated cost is $2,850-$3,000)  

 

Please note that this EOI is targeted at only our more capable players. There will be opportunities for all of our players to attend tournaments throughout the season, so please do not complete this EOI unless you/your child has the skill and knowledge required to be considered in the top 30 players in NSW in that age group.
