The strength of the club is in its Junior Rowing Program. CLRC is the only club in Canberra who offers learn to row and training to all junior rowers and not just those participating in dedicated private School programs. We have supported Junior Rowers from Merici and St Clares College, Telopea High School, Narabundah College, St Edmunds, Campbell High School and a number of other schools.
Junior rowers participate in all of the local ACT Regattas and undertake training over a number of days per week to prepare for local competitions. All Junior Rowers are assigned a qualified coach and no Junior is permitted to train or row without supervision.
CLRC can support both Schools programs and individual rowers looking to start rowing or train in our squads.
Competition
Rowers who wish to participate during the regatta season are organised into squads according to ability. Each squad has a coach who will arrange regular training sessions. All junior rowers are expected to compete in the local regattas.
