Capital Lakes Rowing Club

Located in the picturesque Grevillea Park, just up from the Boathouse restaurant, Capital Lakes Rowing Club offers the Canberra community and visitors to Canberra the opportunity to row in one of the prettiest places in the country.

Membership is open to all and we cater for both the competitive and social rower, as well as offering a range of learn to row programs for juniors, masters and para-rowers. We are always keen to welcome back those rowers who may have taken a break from the sport for many months or even years.

Our club is competitive in regattas, both locally and interstate. Many of our rowers have or are wearing Australian colours and a number of rowers are training with ACT talent squads.

We also offer a number of social rowing opportunities that include  trips away that have seen us rowing on the Tweed River, Sydney Harbour, up and down the South Coast, traveling down to Sale and the Snowy Mountains, as well as our regular weekday and weekend rows. A regular fixture in our rowing calendar is participating in the Royal Flying Doctor Service Murray Rowathon, a 80 km charity row from Wentworth, NSW.

So if you would like to learn to row, compete competitively, row for fun and fitness (combined with an active social component) or volunteer back into the community through our coaching or social inclusion programs, please make contact with us and see what we can offer to you.

Visitors to Canberra are always welcome to drop by the boathouse and we will be happy to find a seat for you as well.

Drop by the boathouse or contact us at capitallakes@gmail.com

Summer safety
29 Sep 2023
With the warmer weather, it is time to refresh everyone’s memories on safety on our waterways. Whilst safety is and should always be a priority for all, the increased users on Lake Burley Griffin and Lake Tuggeranong during the summer months means we need to be extra vigilant. Everybody has as much right to use the lakes as rowers do. This includes swimmers, canoers, kayakers, paddlers, fisherman. · Read more
There are two rowing times for Masters wanting to row during the week - 5.30am and 6.30am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Rowing times on the weekend remain 6.30am. Members are still able to form their own crews outside of these times. · Read more
