From April 19 to 21, the 2024 NSW Championships (formerly known as the NSW Open) took place at Blacktown Leisure Centre in Stanhope Gardens. We're thrilled by the enthusiastic participation of our club members throughout the three-day competition, with representation across nearly all event categories—Singles, Skinny Singles, Mixed, and Gender Doubles—spanning various age groups.

Special recognition goes to those club members who not only competed but also volunteered at the event, as well as our incredible cheer squad, whose support uplifted our spirits. Friday was dedicated to Singles matches, with some fortunate to play indoors while others faced the challenge of outdoor courts, some for the first time.

Saturday brought Gender Doubles, though weather conditions proved challenging, with gusty winds and intermittent rain testing players' skills. Notably, Belinda and Kim battled it out in the over 50's Under 2.99 category, culminating in a Gold Medal Match on the outdoor center court.

Sunday featured Mixed Doubles, with more favorable weather conditions allowing for smoother gameplay. Despite varying levels of success and podium finishes, the collective experience and personal achievements of our members were the true victories of the day.
