Hockey is a fun team sport. Junior hockey commences from Year 5 at school to Year 12. Players are placed in a grade according to their year group not age. (e.g., J5/6 is for players in year 5 and year 6 at school).
The competition is run by Hockey WA and involves playing other teams from clubs all over Perth. Games are played on a full-size field with 11 on the field including a goalkeeper. The season comprises of 14 weeks of fixtures plus a two-week final series, except for J5/6’s which do not have finals.
Our junior team in 2021 was J5/6C (U11’s); this changes from season to season depending on the age of the kids registering to play. Our team was mixed.
In 2021 matches were home and away on Saturday morning for J5/6 team.
This season we are looking for new recruits to increase our player numbers.
The juniors train on Wednesday night from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Ferndale Reserve, Metcalf Rd, Ferndale on the grass fields and Mini turf.
The 2022 Junior season commences on weekend 30th April & 1st May.
