Canberra Cup to be held 12-13 July 2025!

The venues are Campbell High School. Registation will close on 4 July. 

Divisions:

Mixed games are on Saturday 12 July.

Women's and Men's games are on Sunday 13 July

 

All divisions subject to numbers. Mixed teams must have a minimum of two females on court at all times.

Fees $260 per team.

Canberra Cup Rules

1. Team Captains are responsible for managing their team during disputes. Good sportsmanship is required.

2. All games are best of 3 sets timed, 5 mins warm up.

3. Gold medal Finals are best of 3 time to 90 mins.

4. Sets 1, 2 first to 25 points, third set is first to 15 points.

5. Set is valid after a team reaches 13 pts (sets 1&2) or 8 pts (set 3) with 2 point advantage.

6. The minimum number of players a team must field is 5. When playing with 5 players, the “phantom” rule applies.

7. Fielding non registered players is not accepted.

8. All players must be registered with VACT or state players with a state body.

9. Game points are awarded as per following: Win = 4 points, Draw = 2 point Lost = 0. In the event of 1 set each, points accrued across entire game will determine the winner of the game.

10. Should a competing team fail to field at least 5 players after the 5 min warm-up, 1st set is forfeited.

11. If the team still fails to field a minimum of 5 players after a further 5 min wait, the 2nd set will be forfeited.

12. Dutying team must provide a minimum of 1x first referee, 1x second referee and 1x scorer and 2 lines people unless otherwise specified.

13. Teams may need to duty across 2 courts in a timeslot.

14. Failure to do provide Duty will attract 1 point penalty from the dutying team’s accrued game points.

15. All disputes and protests will be dealt with by the Tournament organisers and their decision is final.

16. For all mixed games, a team should field a balance of 4 male and 2 female players. 2 Females on court at all times.

17. In the event of a draw of sets and a complete draw of points at game end points count back will determine the winner.

18. All normal VB rules apply excl rotations which is the ’12 sub rule’ in men’s and woman’s divisions allowing players to enter the court 3 times.

19. Mixed division can be ‘social’ rotations with no limit on substitutions
