Brendan’s impact on the dragonboat and the greater paddling community is profound and far reaching. To honor his life, legacy, and contributions, a memorial race will be held in his honor at the upcoming CDBA Regional Regatta.

Below are the details of the memorial race:

 

Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024

Check-In Location: Lake Merced Boathouse, 1 Harding Rd., San Francisco, CA 94132

Check-In Time: TBD

Race Time: 1:00pm PST

 

Race Description:

This is a 500 meter non-competitive race taking place at Lake Merced (in the North Lake). Be sure to wear watersport appropriate clothing (e.g. shorts, shirt, sandals, etc.). Paddles and PFDs will be provided, but you can bring your own. Note: Only Type III US Coast Guard Approved PFDs are permitted.

 

No entry fee is required, but are encouraged to make a donation towards the Lam family’s funeral expenses. More details regarding the donations will be provided.

 

Parking:

Parking is available at the Sunset Circle Parking Lot (Located by Lake Merced Blvd), but spaces will be limited. Public transportation and rideshare are encouraged. Parking is NOT permitted in the following areas: Along 1 Harding Way, inside the Harding Park Golf Course, and by the Pomeroy Recreation and Rehabilitation Center (Along Zoo Rd and Armory Rd).

Note: If you have never registered as a RevolutioniseSport member under CDBA, select "Sign Up", "New Member" and select "Race Registration Only: Non-CDBA Adult" as the membership type. Afterwards, you can proceed to registering for this event on this page using the account that you've created.  If you are already a 2024 CDBA member, you can register and login with your existing CDBA account.
