Cairns Hockey was established in 1927/28 nearly 92 years ago to administer hockey in the Cairns region. It has grown into a vibrant hockey association with four (4) clubs – Brothers, Saints, Souths and Stingers – with strengthening relationships with Tableland teams, beginning to participate in the local competition. Its home is at the exciting Cairns North Sporting Precinct on Lake Street. Over 118 teams from Under 10 to Masters – male and female during the winter season, 60 plus teams playing Indoor. Social and Walking Hockey also enjoy the sport. There is a balance of participation opportunities, talent pathway options as well as volunteer roles within the sport.
Cairns Hockey has over 1600 members participating in a range of activities on a regular basis. This participation is supported with increasing numbers in the school hockey programs that regularly use the facility with over 2000 school students visiting and actively engaging in hockey activities during the year. The facility is used 6 days a week including:

Cairns Hockey supports 2 Hockey Schools of Excellence Programs – Cairns High – School of Excellence delivers a strong and respected program using Cairns Hockey Facility as its base, and in partnership with the Aspire to be Deadly program, Trinity Bay State High School has an emerging Hockey Excellence Program. Cairns Hockey is vibrant and welcomes over 3000 spectators each week during the traditional club competitions.
