The North Queensland Championships continue to be the Premier Regional Athletics Championships in Australia. Athletes will be travelling from all areas of Queensland – Gold Coast to the Cape and as far west as Mount Isa, including a large number from one of the most remote clubs in Australia – Normanton Athletics.  A large number of athletes are also travelling from a range of states and territories across Australia and the Oceania Region.

This event is open to all ages and abilities who are members of Athletics North Queensland, Queensland Athletics or other Athletics Australia or World Athletics members.

School base athletes 12-17y can participate in either and/or both the North Queensland Championships and Queensland All Schools Athletics Championship (2-5th of November) to qualify for the National All School Championships. These athletes will either compete on the North Queensland team or the Queensland team. Refer to the selection criteria on ANQ teams page for more details.
