Course information
The activities provided at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron will be delivered by Australian Sailing certified instructors who hold WWCC and first aid certificates.
The activity schedule will be dependent on the weather. Activities will include:
- Dinghy sailing on Pacers
- Sailing theory, covering introductory theory on wind direction, steering, sail trim and knot tying.
- Windsurfing and/or stand-up paddleboarding, weather dependent
- Safety boat trip to The Fort and South Chanel Pile to visit the Southern Port Phillip Bay seal colony, weather dependent
- Beach and lawn games
Our Junior Lounge area including changerooms will be available for students to use.
Students are to bring their own lunch, snack and drinks. Food and drinks won’t be available for purchase at the club during these hours.
What to bring
- Students should bring a hat, shoes that can be worn in the water, sunscreen, bathers, board shorts and long sleeve cotton top, wetsuit if you have one, waterproof ‘spay jacket’ if you have one, towel, warm change of clothes, drink bottle. Please do not bring any valuables or wear jewellery that can be lost in sand or water.

Overview
OutThere Sailing 3 has a variety of challenges and skills to master during the program. While the focus is still on fun and hanging out with mates, this course will teach you skills that will make you more competent out on the water and in a position to take your friends out sailing.
Prerequisites
Water confident.
Who should do this program?
This program is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old, who have done OutThere Sailing 2, who are now looking to develop further sailing skills, whilst still having fun and engaging with other teenagers.
