Event information

BYS Off The Beach rack storage application for the 2024-25 summer sailing season is open from 1 August.

Storage allocations and storage invoices will be issued on 3 October. Payment is due within 7 days to secure your allocation.

The rack storage application is open to the following BYS membership categories: Full, Intermediate, Special, Life, and Junior 8-17 (if participating in the BYS sail training program).

We typically receive more applications than space available. We regret that not all requests will be able to be filled, however, we encourage occasional sailors to make use of the Club's pacers. Please note that rack/ground allocation is based on the level of sailing participation in the previous season and upcoming season, not based on the timing of application. Do not make payment at the time of application - you will be issued an invoice if you are allocated a space. Pay your invoice by the due date to secure your allocation.

Allocations will be released on the 3rd of October and you will be issued an invoice for your storage on this day. To accept your allocated spot your invoice must be paid within 7 days. Failure to pay your invoice may result in your spot being reallocated to someone on the storage waiting list.

Please note:

  • All lawn and rack storage is at the owner's risk, boat owners must have appropriate insurance.
  • BYS reserves the right to move boats from time to time, as needed for lawn and rack maintenance and at times during regattas.
  • It is anticipated boats will be moved to an alternative location for the weekend of 23-24 November during the ILCA state championships.
  • All boats should be clearly identified by their sail number on the transom and on the boat trolley.
  • All boats must be removed at the end of the summer season.
