SheSails Dinghy Experience

Our BYS SheSails, Women's sailing program caters for ALL Skill levels - actually absolute beginners are our specialty! The She Sails Dinghy Experience will provide you with a hands-on experience of sailing on one of our Dinghies with an instructor and other female participants.

The She Sails Expereince aims to deliver a social and relaxing time while discovering how fun, safe, accessible and affordable sailing can be both on and off the water.

Once you have discovered your love for sailing, you have an opportunity to move through the BYS SheSails Pathway; SheSails Dinghy Level 1 & 2, or the SheSails Keelboat Pathway; SheSails Experience, SheSails Racing Experience, SheSails Start Crewing and Start Helming! contact the BYS Sailing Office for more information on these courses.

Women of all ages over 16 years are welcome!  Bring your friends and make it a fun day out for all by experiencing BYS on and off the water!

Compulsory

• Hat

• Shoes that can be worn in the water

• Sunscreen

• Clothes conducive to the weather forecast

• Water (drink bottle)

Recommended

• Sunglasses

• Waterproof “spray jacket”

• Towel

• Wetsuit if you have available

• Please do not bring any valuables or wear jewellery that can be lost in sand or water

Who should do this course?

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
