The National Accredited Umpire Course is a 1 day course run by the Badminton Victoria Technical Officials Committee (BVTOC) and delivered in person. After content delivery, at the end of the day attendees have the opportunity to complete a theory assessment in the form of a written examination.

Attendees must understand and speak English fluently. Prior exposure and knowledge of badminton is advantageous but not mandatory.

Candidates who have successfully passed the theory assessment (pass mark of 80%) will be invited to undertake practical assessment at future tournaments within Victoria to gain the qualification of Badminton Australia National Accredited Umpire.
