Volunteering at Brisbane Sailing Squadron
If you would like to spend some time on Brisbane River, learn about sailing and assist with the club’s activities while having some fun, then a volunteering role at BSS is for you.
You Can
- Drive or crew on a safety boat
- Help out on the start boat
- Assist with onshore duties
When
The club runs Saturday afternoon racing between September and April. You would normally be required from 12.30 to 4.30pm
You can volunteer for only a couple of days a year or every weekend - that’s up to you.
What do you Need
No special skills are required as training and mentoring is provided by the club.
A boat licence is not initially required however regular volunteers are encouraged to obtain their boat licence. The club will reimburse regular volunteers for powerboat licence training and safety boat officer training.
