Welcome to Squash Australia! Before you embark on your exciting journey with us, please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the following terms and conditions that govern your membership. By becoming a member of Squash Australia, you agree to abide by these terms for the duration of your membership.

 

1. Membership Eligibility:

To be eligible for Squash Australia membership, individuals must comply with the membership criteria outlined in our membership guidelines. Membership is open to all squash enthusiasts who share a passion for the sport and uphold the values of fair play, sportsmanship, and respect.

 

2. Membership Duration:

Membership with Squash Australia is valid from 1st July - 30th June each year. It is the member's responsibility to renew their membership promptly to ensure uninterrupted access to the benefits and privileges associated with being a Squash Australia member.

 

3. Code of Conduct:

All members are expected to adhere to the Squash Australia Code of Conduct, promoting a positive and inclusive environment for everyone involved in the sport. Any behaviour that goes against the principles of fair play, integrity, or respect may result in disciplinary action, including membership suspension or termination.

 

4. Membership Benefits:

As a Squash Australia member, you will enjoy various benefits, including access to sanctioned events, education programs, SquashLevels, SquashTV, exclusive resources, and more. The specific benefits may vary based on your membership category and can be withdrawn at any time, please refer to the detailed membership information for a comprehensive list of privileges.

 

5. Privacy and Data Protection:

Squash Australia is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. By joining, you consent to the collection and use of personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We assure you that your information will be handled securely and responsibly.

 

6. Membership Fees:

Membership fees are applicable and are subject to change. Members are responsible for ensuring the timely payment of fees to maintain active membership status. Squash Australia reserves the right to revise fees and notify members of any changes in advance.

 

7. Termination of Membership:

Squash Australia reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership in the event of a breach of these terms and conditions, misconduct, or any other behavior deemed detrimental to the organisation and its members.

 

8. Acknowledgement:

I acknowledge and agree that:

1) I am bound by and must comply with all Squash Australian Policies, including but not limited to, the National Integrity Framework, Anti-Doping Policy, and other policies which can be found here: 

2) I acknowledge that I am bound by these policies, and it is my responsibility to be familiar with these policies;

3) a breach of these policies could result in further action being taken, as outlined in the complaints or discipline procedures for the respective policy.

Universal Sport Code of Behaviour

Fairness

  • Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport, promoting fair play over winning at any cost.

  • Encourage opportunities for participants to learn appropriate behaviours and skills.

  • Encourage participation in all aspects of the sport.

 

Respect

  • Treat each person as an individual.

  • Display control, tolerance and courtesy to all involved with the sport.

  • Value the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Responsibility

  • Ensure interaction with persons under the age of 18 years is appropriate and that unaccompanied and unobserved activities are avoided wherever practical.

  • Adopt appropriate behaviour in relation to the use of alcohol and recreational and performance enhancing drugs.

  • Act with integrity and accept responsibility for your actions.

Safety

  • Ensure your actions contribute to a safe environment.

  • Ensure your actions contribute to a harassment free environment.

  • Do not tolerate violence or abusive behaviours.

General Code of Behaviour

As a member of Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club or a person required to comply with Squash Australia’s MPP, you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held or sanctioned by Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club and in any role you hold within Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others.

  • Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealing with others.

  • Be professional in, and accept responsibility for, your actions.

  • Make a commitment to providing quality service.

  • Be aware of, and maintain an uncompromising adhesion to, Squash’s standards, rules, regulations and policies.

  • Operate within the rules of the sport including national and international guidelines which govern Squash Australia, the member associations and the affiliated clubs.

  • Do not use your involvement with Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practices where these are inconsistent with those of Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with persons less than 18 years of age, as your words and actions are an example.

  • Avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with persons less than 18 years of age, wherever possible.

  • Refrain from any form of harassment of others.

  • Refrain from any behaviour that may bring Squash Australia, a member association or an affiliated club into disrepute.

  • Provide a safe environment for the conduct of the activity.

  • Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured.

  • Be a positive role model.

  • Understand the repercussions if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of, this Code of Behaviour.
