We have sailed from Lumley Hill four times and found the steep slope from the water edge challenging to get the boats back up to the road. It takes 3 or 4 persons to roll a boat back up the hill. Also, the little cove with a small flattish area to rig the boats has about 500mm of mud at the water edge, making it difficult to launch.
Last weekend, we decided to try Logan’s Inlet to launch our sailing boats.
At Logans Inlet, we can roll our boats on their dollies down the ramp and then onto the grassed area with no problems. Retrieving the boats, we back the trailer down the ramp and load the boat and dollies onto the trailer. Launching is very easy at Logan’s Inlet.
SEQWater has given approval for us to use Logans Inlet.
