At the very beginning of The Briars Club – before Briars had team sports participating in local competitions, the members of The Briars organised local Athletics Carnivals. In memory and recognition of these beginnings, The Briars held Athletics Carnivals at the 50^th Anniversary and the 75^th Anniversary of the club where club members competed against each other at a Carnival.

So we are having another Athletics Carnival on Sunday 6^th May to celebrate our Centenary Year in 2018.

This is being run and organised by the Briars Sports Club and we encourage hockey members to attend if and where possible to be part of this momentous occasion.

The Club is being assisted by Athletics NSW who will be supplying an Events Coordinator and a Race Starter. We need to supply Ground/Field Marshals to provide the working infrastructure. Such jobs would be pre and post event marshalling, result logging and messaging etc.
