Ballarat Roller Derby has been building a local skating community in our region since 2008.
Our Roller Skate Fit Club program has put wheels under the feet of more than 500 people since 2016.
Join us to play Roller Derby as a sport, or skate at one of our recreational programs like Roller Skate Fit Club, Mini Rollers & Skate High.
We are proud to be an innovative, diverse and inclusive sporting club, providing opportunities to skate for almost all ages through our programs.

Roller derby is a roller skating contact sport played by teams all over the world, including 12+ other clubs in Victoria alone. Our main competitive pathways for 2025 are the Statewide Stampede season and the East Coast Clash tournament. We have specific Roller Derby Beginner intakes throughout the year, but it's possible to learn to skate anytime via Roller Skate Fit Club and learn the same fundamental skills (with more music!).

Our Junior Derby program is for skaters aged 10+ who are keen to learn how to play Roller Derby.
Skills that are taught in our classes include the WFTDA minimum skate skills, on track strategies and the rules of the game.

Roller Skate Fit Club is a fitness class on Roller Skates!
Over 8 weeks, we teach you how to skate and to have fun exercising. Yes FUN.
So much fun it doesn't even feel like exercising.
No experience necessary and equipment provided until you get your own.

Our Mini Roller program is for primary aged skaters who are keen to learn the fundamental skills to have begin their skating journey. Skills that are taught in our classes include skating forwards, skating backwards, turning around and stopping. Most skills are taught through fun games, with skills drills added in.

Our Skate High program is for high school aged skaters who are keen to learn skills at the beginner to intermediate level. Skills that are taught in our classes include skating forwards, skating backwards, and more advanced methods for turning around and stopping. Most skills are taught through skills drills, with fun games added in.
