The Junior State Championships will return to Melbourne for 2022 at venues yet to be determined. North West Lightning enter a boys and girls team in each age group – Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18. Players must be affiliated with Hockey Central Vic, North Central Hockey Association, Sunraysia Hockey Association or Wimmera Hockey Association to nominate and trial for the teams. Trials will be held on Sunday 3rd April in Bendigo. The teams train for 10 hours leading up to the event and the training dates are: Sunday 22 May, Sunday 6 June, Sunday 20 June and Wednesday 29 June. Players in the Under 18 teams will be playing in the Senior Country Championships (SCC) held in Melbourne from 11 -13 June in lieu of Training on 20 June. The Under 18 teams will stay together for the tournament with fundraising prior to the event to keep costs to a minimum.
