Child Safe Form for Solo Parents
Bentleigh Calisthenics College has a Child Safe Policy to ensure the welfare of children and young people under the aged of 18 in our care. All children and young people who are part of the Club have a right to feel and be safe. We are fully committed to ensuring our strategies, policies, procedures and practices meet all the requirements of the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

The policy contains particular sections relevant to solo coaching:
- To avoid direct, unsupervised contact between coaches and children or young person, the Club recommends that a parent/carer supervises their child or young person at all times during their solo coaching lessons. If this is not practicable, it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to give written permission to the coach that they are comfortable with leaving their child with the coach one-on-one during the lesson.
- Coaches and helpers will not have unauthorised contact with students online or by phone, unless necessary for the distribution of club communication materials such as newsletters or training videos. This includes the prohibition of coaches being Facebook friends with students, and private communication in person, electronically or otherwise. Coaches will seek written permission from the parent/guardian at the start of each year if it is deemed necessary to communicate directly via phone or online with a young person, such as to arrange solo coaching sessions.
