2024 Annual General Meeting 

Our AGM is due to be held here at the stadium on Wednesday, 16th October 2024 at 7.00pm. As per the requirements of the Club Constitution please contact the Secretary by September 12th 2024 if you have any other items of special business  (e.g. Best Club person nomination, Life Membership nomination, ammendement to Club Rules, etc) for the AGM.

 During the year your current Committee has identified & supported the introduction of two changes to the existing club rules.  These two changes (with details of the existing section in our constitution) are listed below and shall be formally included as Special Business at the AGM.  Section 42 is required to align our existing rules to meet the requirements of the model rules issued by Consumer affairs Victoria. The second is required to formally acknowledge By-Laws in the Club Rules as part of grounds for taking disciplinary action. The third is administrative to closer align our financial year with the requirement for TTV affiliation.

·         Section 42 – Role and Powers, under (3) The Committee may:- add the line …
(c) establish and maintain Bylaws to provide guidance for operational and day-to-day matters, to be amended by the Committee as required.

·         Section 19 – Grounds for taking disciplinary action:- amend line
(c) has engaged in conduct prejudicial to the Association - to
(c) has engaged in conduct prejudicial to the Association; or
(d) has failed to comply with the Association’s By-Laws.

·         Section 3 Financial Year  minor update to to change financial year from 31 July to 31 December
To be amended (bold):
The financial year of the Association is each period of 12 months ending on 31 December of each year.

Nominations are also open for the 2024/25 committee. Nominations need to be submitted to the Secretary by 2nd October 2024.  Completed nominations are also able to left with the Grade Supervisors at the Stadium Office.  If only one nomination is received by 2nd October that nomination will win the position nominated. If multiple nominations are received and election will be held at the AGM.  Any vacant positions (i.e. no nominations) will be open to nominations on the night of the AGM. Under our Club rules you cannot nominate for a position that has been filled or an election is to be held. .

We need to have a quorum of players from all grades attend this meeting to enable the club to complete its legal requirements.

All positions on the committee are declared vacant at the AGM. Under the Club rules all existing Committee are eligible to re-nominate.  If anyone is interested in standing for the committee, could they please complete the nomination form.  Note it is a requirement that all nominees for the Committee be:-

  • 18 years old at the time of the AGM.
  • Apply for and obtain a WWCC
