If you've never sailed before this course is for you. No experience needed at all.

This course was started to provide a supportive environment open to all female-identifying people with highly experienced female instructors guiding you through the fundamentals of sailing.

You'll learn the basics and by the end of the course you'll be able to tie the correct knots, understand the terminology and how to rig up a yacht in readiness for a day on the water.

We'll get onto the river as quickly as possible and show you how to trim sails.

Our instructors are the most experienced in Hobart,  and our boat is perfect for showing you the basics.

Course Cost $400.00 includes handbook, log book and 6 months membership. 10% discount for BYC members.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Crewing completion certificate.
