Route
Leaving the carpark 7.30am at Brewer St, Concord, we ride the back streets through Croydon to the Cooks River Cycle way and on to Kyeemagh to join the Botany Bay Cycle way. Optional quick coffee stop at the 16 footer sailing club before proceding onto the Taren Point bridge and follow the cycleway to Kurnell via Woolooware. Once in the Botany Bay National Park its a short climb to the Cape Solander whale watching platform to attempt some cetacean spotting. On the way back we'll stop for brunch at the Toast2230 cafe in Woolooware and then pretty much backtrack to Concord. Its a long but fairly flat ride most of the way. Most of it is on shared paths and cycle ways but we will have to ride on the road in traffic in some parts. This ride is classed as Medium-Hard due to the distance. Bring some binoculars to improve your chances of spotting a whale.
