Route Description

“Surf’s Up - Hornsby to Northern Beaches” offers scenery through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park followed by sweeping views of Pittwater, and various northern beaches' surf beaches and headlands. The ride starts at Hornsby station on the west side, and finishes at Manly Wharf, where riders can choose a means to return home such as the Manly ferry to Circular Quay,  perhaps followed by other public transport to home.

This “away from home” ride starting Hornsby Station, passes through Turramurra, St Ives, Terrey Hills, Church Point, Mona Vale, and various Northern Beaches to Manly.

Remember to bring an Opal Card for public transport. Suggestion only: consider using the train to Hornsby. (North Shore line will be unavailable).

This ride is for fit and experienced riders or riders at a medium-hard level. The ride uses all types of roads including shared paths, and back streets through to main roads. The ride includes longer climbs and windy descents. Bring: helmet, water bottle, at least 2 spare tubes, money for cafe, and your Opal card.
